Service Member for Life – Transition Summit: Day 1

Day One is intended to focus on Senior leaders from the Washington State community – including employers, senior military leaders, local support organizations, chambers of commerce, economic development groups, CEOs and regional support organizations – in addition to federal partners such as the Department of Defense, the Department of Labor, the Veterans Administration and the Small Business Administration as well as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes initiative, given their important roles in military transition. The purpose of the day is to highlight National and State transition initiatives, provide an open forum to share information, gain senior leader support for understanding and implementing transition both on and off the installation as part of a “seamless handoff” to civilian life.
SCHEDULED EVENTS:
8:00 to 9:00 AM – Check In/Networking
9:00 AM to 12:15 PM –Morning Session to include informative panel discussions about the value of military transition, where it has been, where it is going and why WA is leading the way.
12:00 to 1:00 PM – Lunch
1:00 to 4:00 PM – Transition Track Break-Out Sessions/Symposiums:
- Service Member Briefing
- Washington Transition Council Workgroup Meetings
4:00 – 6:00 PM – Reception
